Composed of correspondence, typescripts, newspaper clippings, photographs, and other items. Most of the material relates in some way to Japan. Includes letters and book reviews of Wayman, as well as correspondence of Professor Edward Sylvester Morse, a specialist on Japan.

Biographical Note
Journalist and author, Dorothy Godfrey Wayman was born in California, but grew up in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. From 1918 to 1922 she lived in Japan. After returning to the United States she worked for the Falmouth Enterprise and the Boston Globe. Wayman published several books in her lifetime, including one on Japan. She died in 1975.
