The Audiovisual Services Department was established in 1951. In 2000, the department merged with other media services departments to form the Center for Media and Instructional Technology. In 2002, the center officially changed its name to Media Technology Services. The department, which offers various technological, audio, and visual services to the University community, is located in Campion Hall.
