The manuscript contains information from the ship's log and descriptions from several of the ports of call (Funchal, Island of Madeira; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Valparaiso, Chili; Lima, Peru; Coquimbo, Chili; Monterey, California; Mazatlan, Mexico; the Hawaiian Islands; Nuka Hiva; and, Tahiti). The manuscript was written by two unknown individuals as there are two distinct sets of handwriting in the document.

Moses Adams diaries
Comprised of two volumes put together by Adams in 1834-1835. The volumes include copies of correspondence and other papers. Many of the entries are annotated. There are also lists of Adams' friends, schoolmates, and shipmates and the occupations they pursued in 1834-35.

Ian Anstruther was a British diplomat and writer, who focused on 19th-century social and literary history. These papers consist of typescripts for his book about English poet Coventry Patmore, Coventry Patmore's Angel: A Study of Coventry Patmore, His Wife Emily and "The Angel in the House" (1992), and limited correspondence with literary scholars concerning Patmore.

Ardbawn: a bit of Ireland fifty years ago, typescript
A fictionalized account of events witnessed by the author during his youth of a "particular locality in the South of Ireland during the Agrarian uprising between the years 1880 and 1890." Ardbawn (or Ardbaun) is a townland of the civil parish of Thurles in County Tipperary. Mention is also made of the tenants working the land in Rosscarbery in County Cork.
