J. D. Fallon & Son

 Organization

Historical Note

J. D. Fallon & Son Funeral Home was originally established in 1875 by John D. Fallon (1847-1925) at 730 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, a neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. He was later joined in business by his son George S. Fallon (1886-1953). After the deaths of both John and George, the funeral home was managed by George's wife Marguerite M. (Deschamps) Fallon and one of their daughters. In 1939 the business relocated from Centre to Greenough Avenue, where it remained in the family until Marguerite's retirement in 1976. She sold the business to Ronald West, who merged it with another longstanding Jamaica Plain funeral business, the Brady Funeral Home, to become the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home.
