Biography

The Center for Irish Programs was established in 2000 to consolidate and coordinate Boston College’s Irish-focused initiatives. It serves as the umbrella for the Irish Studies Program, the Irish Institute, the Burns Library Irish Collections, BC Ireland in Dublin, and the Gaelic Roots Program.

The Center supports the University’s academic, cultural, and professional engagement with Ireland, providing opportunities for students, alumni, faculty, and institutional partners. Its activities foster interdisciplinary collaboration, international exchange, and public programming in Irish history, literature, politics, and culture.

Abstract

Recordings of events organized by the Gaelic Roots Music, Song, Dance, Workshop, and Lecture Series at Boston College, founded in 2003 by Séamus Connolly. The Series brings together accomplished performers and experts in Irish, Scottish, American, and related folk music traditions to share their experience, knowledge, and talent with the Boston College community and beyond.
