Biographical note

William Joseph Landrey was born on March 29, 1914 in Jamaica Plain, MA to William Thomas Landrey and Rose A. Dowd Landrey. He had three siblings: Mary L., Katherine B., and Leo R. Landrey. He entered Boston College in 1931, was active in the social life of the school, including the Marquette Debate Society and the Dante Academy, and graduated in 1935. He registered for the draft in 1940, and in 1942 enlisted in the United States Army as a private. Landrey spent his career both before and after World War II in hose and rubber manufacturing. He married Rita Marie Dwyer, and they had one child, Winifred A. Landrey. William Landrey died on May 16, 1970, in Boston, MA.
