Biographical Note

Denis Aloysius McCarthy was born in Ireland and emigrated to the United States at the age of fifteen. He settled in Boston and wrote for the Sacred heart review. McCarthy published several books of verse. He also lectured frequently, especially to Catholic audiences. He received an honorary doctorate from Boston College in 1922.
