Biographical Note
Isaac William Ward was born in Belfast, Ireland in 1834. Except for a short stay in the United States, he lived his entire life in Belfast and worked in the linen industry. Ward found enough success in his business enterprises to have the leisure time to spend pursuing his interests in astronomy and the local history of Belfast. He died in 1916.
