Biographical Note
Derek Mahon was born in Belfast. He was educated in Belfast and Dublin, receiving a B.A. from Trinity College in 1965. He then began to teach English in Northern Ireland and Dublin. From 1977 he taught at the University of Ulster in Coleraine. Over the course of his career, he published over 20 volumes of poetry and nearly a dozen translations.

Correspondence and collected materials from and about Deane's friends, colleagues, and associated organizations. Includes many drafts of literary work sent to Deane for comment, both in his personal capacity and as editor of Dedalus Press.
