Biographical Note

Bartholomew Rinonico is best known as the author of De Conformitate Vitae B. P. Francisco ad Vitam Domini Nostri Jesu Christi. He is frequently confused with Bartholomew of San Concordio (1262-1347) and with Bartholomew Albizzi (-1361), all three being known as Bartholomew of Pisa.

Abstract Quadragesimale, together with other sermons and remarks on the lives of saints, by Bartholomew Rinonico, written in 2 columns in semi-gothic script, with pen-flourished initials in red, on paper, except for leaves 1 and 8 which are parchment. Marginal and interleaved additions written in a later, informal cursive script. Contemporary manuscript foliation at upper right. Leaves 1-55: Lives of various saints. Leaves 55v-56v: Laude in Italian verse. Leaves 57r-160v: Quadragesimale de Casibus....
