Siragusa, Peter
Biographical note
Peter C. Siragusa was born on February 8, 1928. He grew up in Brighton, MA. He received an undergraduate degree in music education from the Boston Conservatory of Music, followed by a Master of Music degree from Boston University in 1958. He spent his career as a public school music teacher and band director in Fleischmanns, NY, Watertown, MA, and Boston, MA. He directed the Boston College Screaming Eagles Marching Band from 1955 to 1987, growing the program from 25 to nearly 200 members and establishing it as a fixture of Boston College football games. He resigned both his Boston Public Schools and Boston College positions in 1987 following allegations of financial mismanagement. Siragusa died on September 13, 2003.
