Biography

Benjamin McLane Spock, psychologist, author of "Baby and Child Care," and activist. Early in the 1960s, Spock became concerned about growing political unrest in Vietnam and lobbied against armed intervention. Spock and four others were indicted on charges of criminal conspiracy to aid draft evaders, and he was convicted in June 1968. A year later, his conviction was overturned on appeal.
