Biographical Note

Mary Flannery Woods was born in 1875. She began writing for various publications as early as 1900. During the Irish Civil War, she was involved in the activities of Cumann na mban, the woman's branch of the Irish Volunteer Force, later the Irish Republican Army. She married fellow Irish nationalist Andrew Woods. Her home was a known arms and ammunitions depot for certain units of the Irish Republican Army.
