Biography
Daniel Julien Bailey was a soldier in the Royal Irish Rifles in the British army who wasa German POW when he was recruited (as Daniel Beverley) into the "Casement Brigade." Bailey was captured along with Casement at Banna Strand, Ireland, while they attempted to land arms for Irish Republicans from the German vessel the Aud. Bailey later testified against Casement in return for a pardon.
