Biographical note
James (Jimmy) Hogan, a flute and whistle player from County Clare, acquired much of his tune repertoire in the 1940s while playing music for house dances around Lahinch and Doolin. He lived in England briefly before immigrating to the Boston area in 1947. He was an active participant in Irish music gatherings in Massachusetts, and in 1999 was inducted into the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Northeast Region Hall of Fame.
