Biographical note
Arthur Hopkins was born on December 30, 1848 to Manley and Catherine (Smith) Hopkins. He attended Lancing College as a young boy and joined the Royal Academy of Arts in 1872. His primary artistic medium was watercolor. In 1873, Hopkins married Rebecca Beckett. Hopkins died of heart failure at the age of 81 on September 10, 1930.
