Cecilia, Saint
Biographical note
A Roman, martyred in the third century and buried in the cemetery of Saint Callistus. Her relics rest beneath the high altar of the basilica of Saint Caecilia in Trastevere. She is the patron saint of musicians. In art she is represented playing the organ or the harp.
