Odile, of Alsace, approximately 660-approximately 720
Person
Biographical note
According to tradition, Odile was born blind and cast out for this reason by her family. She was adopted by a convent, where she miraculously recovered her sight. Eventually she became abbess foundress of Hohenburg (now Odilienberg) and of Niedermunster, both under the Benedictine Rule.
