Raphael (Archangel)
Person
Biographical note
One of the three angels whom the Church venerates liturgically by name, and also described as one of the Seven Angels who stand before the throne of God. His name means "the Healer of God," and his ministrations are described in the book of Tobias. He is commonly identified with the angel of the sheep-pool (John 5:1-4). His feast was added to the calendar of the Catholic Church in 1922.
