Biographical Note
Brendan Mulvihill was born in Northampton, England, in 1954. He immigrated to New York City with his family in 1965 and learned to play the fiddle from his father, Martin Mulvihill. Brendan returned to England for a few years and won several All-Ireland championships before moving back to New York in 1975. He performed and recorded with The Irish Tradition, a group that was active in both New York and in the Washington, DC area. He toured and performed extensively as a solo artist in various collaborations. He composed tunes and published a four-volume compilation of tunes collected by his father. He died in 2024.
