Biographical Note

Anne Margaret "Nano" Reid (1 March 1900 – 17 November 1981), Irish painter, was born on 1 March 1900, in Drogheda, County Louth, to Thomas and Anne (Downey) Reid. She studied at the Metropolitan School of Art in Dublin, and began exhibiting at the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1925. In the 1930s she moved to Dublin and had solo landscape shows in galleries and art societies there. In 1950 she was selected to represent Ireland at the Venice Biennale.
