Biographical note
Originally from Vermont, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and author Kate Barnes lived and performed in the Boston area for many years before relocating to Greenfield, Massachusetts. She has performed widely for concerts, contra dances, and English country dances, in bands such as Yankee Ingenuity, Bare Necessities, and the Latter Day Lizards. She was the 2020 recipient of the The Country Dance and Song Society Lifetime Contribution Award.
