Biographical note
Joe Burke was a multi-instrumentalist from County Galway whose recording career spanned the 1950s until 2021. He won the Senior All-Ireland title on the accordion in 1959 and 1960, and was RTÉ's Traditional Musician of the Year in 1970. He collaborated, toured, and recorded internationally, and helped spark a revival of interest in the B/C button accordion.
