Biographical note
A native of County Clare, Geraldine Cotter was a whistle and piano player and teacher as well as an Irish music researcher. She earned a doctorate from the University of Limerick. She became a lecturer at University of Limerick and subsequently at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick. In 2017, she received the MÓRglór Award for outstanding contributions to traditional music in County Clare.
