Biographical note

John Curran emigrated from Ireland to Boston at the age of 16. He participated in many Massachusetts organizations, as a master of ceremonies, fundraiser, and volunteer. He helped to establish both the Boston branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton and. For many years he was a regular announcer on the Boston radio program "A Sound of Erin." Curran was inducted into the Northeast Region Hall of Fame of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in 2006.
