Biographical note
From Brooklyn, New York, Donny Golden was the first American-born Irish dancer to medal at both the All Ireland and the All World championships. In 1976 he founded the Donald Golden School of Irish Dance. He has performed with groups such as Green Fields of America, The Chieftains, and Cherish the Ladies. He received a National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellowship in 1995.
