Harney, Liam

Biographical note

Liam Harney was a stepdancer, dance teacher, adjudicator, choreographer, and producer from Boston. He won the Irish stepdance World Championship in 1984 and 1987, and also trained in ballet, jazz, and modern dance. He founded the Harney Academy of Irish Dance in Walpole, Massachusetts in 1990 and co-founded the Academy of Performing Arts in San Diego in 1993.

Scope and Contents

Includes video recordings from two cameras in different locations (A and B). The audio quality for the first 25 minutes of the camera A video recording is poor, however the camera B and audio-only recordings are good.

The audio recordings on DTRS cannot be reformatted by Burns Library at this time and are not available for playback due to format impermanence. All audio and video recordings on DAT and mini-DV have been digitally copied and are accessible.
