Biographical note
Fiddle player, pianist, and composer Josephine Keegan moved with her family from Dundee, Scotland to County Armagh, Northern Ireland in 1939. Born into a musical family, she won the Oireachtas fiddle competition in 1955. She lived in London for several years in the 1960s and toured regularly as a piano accompanist for accordion player Joe Burke and also for fiddle player Seán Maguire. She moved to County Cavan before eventually settling in Mullabhbawn, County Armagh. She published several albums and tune books. In 2005, TG4 recognized her with the Composer of the Year (Gradam an Chumadóra) award.
