Biographical note
Originally from Limerick, Ciarán Mac Mathúna was an Irish radio broadcaster and folk music collector. In 1954, he began working at Radio Éireann as a collector of Irish music, later becoming a broadcaster for the programs A Job of Journeywork (1957-1970) and Mo Cheol Thú (1970-2005). He won the Jacob's Broadcasting Award twice and was awarded a TG4 Gradam na gCeoltóirí in 2007.

Smith replaced Ruth-Ann Harris, who was on the program as the anticipated Monday lecturer. Each event was captured in its own audio recording, but the video recordings span all four events. Includes video recordings from two cameras in different locations (A and B). Only the camera B video set includes the end of the Smith lecture.
