Biographical note
From the Shetland Islands, Catriona MacDonald was a traditional Shetland fiddle player, singer, composer, and teacher. She won the Young Fiddler of the Year title at the Shetland Folk Society competition and in 1991 was awarded the BBC Radio Two Young Tradition Award. She has recorded and toured internationally, solo and with groups such as String Sisters and Blazin’ Fiddles.
