Biographical note

From Glenuig, Scotland, Iain MacDonald was a performer on Scottish Highland pipes, flute, Scottish smallpipes, and whistle. He was also a teacher and producer and was a founding member of Fir Chlis, the first Gaelic theatre company. He played with the band Ossian in the 1980s, and with the Battlefield Band in the 1990s. In 2013, he was inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame. He teaches in the Gaelic language and music course at Colaisde Bheinn na Faoghla.
