Biographical note
Born into a musical family, Anne Sheehy McAuliffe, from County Kerry, was an accordion and whistle player and teacher. In 1967, she won the senior whistle competition at the Fleadh in Enniscorthy and in the same year she won the senior accordion competition at the Oireachtas in Dublin. She joined and toured with the folk theater group Siamsa Tíre, and she also toured with the groups the Desmond Céilí Band and the Brosna Céilí Band, with whom she won the All-Ireland Céilí Band competition in 1972.

Smith replaced Ruth-Ann Harris, who was on the program as the anticipated Monday lecturer. Each event was captured in its own audio recording, but the video recordings span all four events. Includes video recordings from two cameras in different locations (A and B). Only the camera B video set includes the end of the Smith lecture.
