McGuire, Seamus

Biographical note

Séamus McGuire was an Irish fiddle player, teacher, and composer who grew up in County Sligo. He won both the senior Fiddler of Dooney competition and the Oireachtas senior fiddle competition. He has toured and recorded widely, often with his brother Manus McGuire. In 1983, he co-founded the group Buttons & Bows, and he also joined The West Ocean String Quartet.
