McKenna, Joe
Biographical note
From Dublin, Joe McKenna was a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer. He won multiple All Ireland titles and was awarded IMRO’s New Irish Music Composer of the Year Award in 1993. He began his music performance career at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin and his subsequent collaborations have included a harp and uilleann pipes duo with his wife, Antoinette McKenna, and the group Sean Nua.
