Biographical note
Martin Mulhaire was an accordion and guitar player and composer born and raised in County Galway. An All-Ireland accordion champion at age 17, he had been a member of the Aughrim Slopes, Killimor, and Tulla Ceili bands before immigrating to the U.S. approximately 1958. In 1963 he co-founded The Majestic Showband in the Bronx, New York. He recorded, collaborated, and toured extensively and in 1995 he was inducted into the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Mid-Atlantic Region Hall of Fame.
