Biographical note

Originally from Massachusetts, Gráinne Murphy was a fiddle player based in Dublin. Growing up in the Boston area she studied fiddle with Séamus Connolly and won an All-Ireland fiddle title. She was a touring member of the band Cherish the Ladies approximately 2011-2019 and has also performed and recorded in other collaborations and as a solo artist. She spent several years in New York before moving to Dublin.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: Boston College Gaelic Roots Festival is primarily documented through audio and video recordings of music and dance performances and lectures. There are also extensive color snapshot photographs of the festival, and these include classes and workshops as well as concerts and lectures.
