Biographical note

Guitar player Chris Newman was a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer based in northern England. He has toured and recorded in Celtic, European swing jazz, bluegrass, folk, and classical music. In 1987 he and harpist Máire Ní Chathasaigh formed a duo specializing in Irish and Celtic traditional and folk music as well as other genres. In 2009 and 2019 Newman was named Live Ireland’s Male Musician of the Year.
