Biographical note
Abby Newton was a cello player and teacher of American and Scottish traditional music in the Catskills, New York. She began performing in the 1970s. She performed with the Putnam String County Band, Scottish singer Jean Redpath, Ferintosh, and the Skye Trio. She performed on over 100 folk recordings and recorded three solo albums.
