Biographical note
Originally from County Kerry, Donal O’Connor was a traditional Irish fiddle player based in Limerick. In the early 1960s he and his brother Patrick founded the Brosna Ceili Band, which went on to win the All-Ireland senior championship in 1972. He has also toured Ireland and internationally, including as one of 25 musicians invited to participate in the 1976 Bicentennial Festival of American Folklife.
