Biographical note

A champion Irish dancer, Rita O'Shea-Chaplin founded a school of Irish dance in Galway approximately 1954 before relocating it to Boston as the O’Shea Chaplin Academy of Irish Dance. She has been a teacher, judge, and adjudicator of Irish dance and has held a variety of leadership positions with the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America (IDTANA). She also served as a member of the examining committee of An Coimisiún Rince na hEireann (Irish Dance Commission).
