Biographical note
Born in Derry in 1950, Dáithí Sproule was a traditional Irish guitarist, singer, teacher, lecturer, and composer based in Minnesota. He was one of the first musicians to develop DADGAD guitar tuning for Irish music. He began his performing career with the group Skara Brae, which received the Grúpa Ceoil award from TG4 in 2022. He was also an instructor at the Center for Irish Music in St. Paul. Sproule's other musical collaborations included the groups Trian, Altan, and Fingal.

Includes video recordings from two cameras in different locations (A and B). The audio quality for the first 25 minutes of the camera A video recording is poor, however the camera B and audio-only recordings are good.
The audio recordings on DTRS cannot be reformatted by Burns Library at this time and are not available for playback due to format impermanence. All audio and video recordings on DAT and mini-DV have been digitally copied and are accessible.
