Biographical note
F. W. (Frederic William) Saunders was born in 1867, in Dublin, Ireland, and went to high school in Dublin with W. B. Yeats. He married Margaret Stoddart Boyd in 1899, and they had one daughter, Alice Mary Saunders. Saunders was the Honorary Secretary of the Red Cross in Carrick-on-Suir during World War I. He retired as bank manager in Steventon, Berkshire, England before 1942 and died in 1946.
