Biographical Note

Mary Perkins Ryan was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1912, educated at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Connecticut, and received her BA at the College of the Sacred Heart in New York. She worked briefly for Sheed and Ward. Her first book, At your Ease in the Catholic Church, was published in 1938. Ryan was active in the Liturgical Movement, and authored, edited, and translated over 25 works on the topics of theology, philosophy, and primarily liturgy. Ryan died in 1993.
