Biographical Note

A Jesuit scholar, lecturer and missionary, Mark McNeal was born in 1874 to Joshua Vansant and May Preston McNeal. He attended Georgetown College and then entered the Maryland-New York Province of the Society of Jesus. McNeal taught at Sophia University in Japan, and raised funds in its behalf. He also taught in Manilla, Philippines, and St. Andrew-on-Hudson, New York before his death in 1934.
