Biographical Note

Larry Reynolds was born in Ahascragh, County Galway in 1932. After emigrating from Ireland at age 20, he became a well-known performer and session leader in the Boston area as well as an organizer of Irish music and dance events. He performed with many Boston groups, including the Tara Ceili Band and the Connacht Ceili Band. In 1975 he co-founded the Boston branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, serving as chairperson for many years. With other family members, he was inducted into the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Northeast Region Hall of Fame in 2002. He died in 2012.
