Biographical Note

John James Munro was born in England in 1883 and graduated from Christ Church, Oxford in 1913. During World War I he served in the Royal Corps of Signals in Gallipoli and Palestine and was awarded the Military Cross. Munro resumed his literary work on Shakespeare following his retirement in the 1940s. He authored and edited multiple works on Shakespeare and wrote a biography of Frederick James Furnivall. Munro died in London in 1956 at age 73.
