Biographical Note
Foley (d. 2001) received his bachelor's degree (1936) and master's degree in philosophy (1953) from Boston College. He was ordained in 1941 and served as an Army Chaplain during World War II, retiring in 1973 with the rank of Colonel.

Consists of mimeograph copies of typescripts of De Gratia Christi (third edition, 1951) and De Deo Creante et Elevante (1953) by German Jesuit theologian Karl Rahner, accompanied by a letter from John D. Gerkin to Father John Foley commenting on them (1959).
