Biographical Note

Atheletic director. William Flynn was born in 1915. He was a student athlete at Lawrence Academy and Boston English High School. Flynn earned B.A. and M.A. degrees in education from Boston College; he was also captain of the Boston College Football team (1938). Flynn was Boston College's assistant football coach (1948-1951), director of the Alumni Association (1952-1957), and director of Boston College's Athletic Association (1957-1991). The William J. Flynn Student Recreation Complex at Boston College was named in his honor 1979. Flynn died in 1997.
