Scope & Content
The Theodore Karp collection of liturgical and musical manuscript leaves consists of excerpts from medieval and early modern manuscripts dating from the 12th to the 18th centuries. The leaves come from liturgical and musical texts, including: antiphonals, choirooks, graduals, missals, and one leaf from a book of hours. Most are handwritten on parchment; a few later leaves that are printed and on paper are noted as such in the description.

Conservation note
The antiphonal leaf in folder 2 has a diagonally torn corner, a 1.5" tear at the fore edge, and knife slits, which were repaired with paper patches prior to acquisition by the Burns Library. In 2019, the Burns Library conservator removed prior repairs and mended with Japanese paper and adhesive, as well as with a more traditional medieval sewing method.
