 File — Box: 6, Folder: 16

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

Sheehan's sermons cover a range of feast days within the Catholic Church including Ash Wednesday, Corpus Christi, the Ascension, Easter, Holy Thursday, Pentecost, and the Holy Trinity. Other topics examined in Sheehan's sermons include death and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There are also untitled sermons dating from April 1983 through February 1985. In addition, this subseries includes sermons given by Sheehan to the Sisters of Charity in Convent Station, New Jersey. These sermons date from 1985 through 1989, and are predominantly untitled. Sheehan arranged most of these sermons according to the liturgical season (i.e. Ordinary, Lent, Paschal [Pasch], or Advent), the week in the season (i.e. D1), and the readings (i.e. A, B, or C). At other times, he labeled sermons by the day of a particular feast or saint.
